The difference between many Home-Study courses and a DMV approved Driving School Course is that the DMV approved course must be reviewed by DMV, meet state educational criteria and may only be offered by state licensed driving schools, versus a course that does not meet that criteria and has no official overview.
Over the years, we have trained thousands of students, many of which have taken Home-Study courses. When we start driver training in the vehicle with those students, we typically find that they have a greater foundation of knowledge; rules of the road and the driving environment, than the students that have taken courses from both public schools and private driving schools. We believe that is because of the personal effort that goes into the process of reading absorbing and retaining the information contained in that course.
As such, we are pleased to be able to offer this level of instruction, now that the DMV has approved it for use by licensed driving schools.
